Do we really know how fast food affects kids these days? In â€Å"Don’t Blame the Eater,† David Zinczenko discusses the effect of fast food on kids and teens. He states the issues from both personal experience and from factual situations in our society today. Zinczenko, from his personal experience, was able to get out of his bad eating habits. He suggests how others can do it if he was able to. These different situations give us insight on how Zinczenko expresses his credibility, facts, and emotional issues during his arguments. Ethos is established in this story in a form of personal experience. Zinczenko was in a situation where he was forced to diet on fast food. This caused him to have very poor eating habits which, in turn, caused his bad health. By explaining what led up to this lifestyle, credibility is established by letting the reader know that he went through the same thing. If this information was not present, some people may not be able to get the full eff ect from the arguments made in this story. Zinczenko’s use of ethos continues when he states, â€Å"I learned how to manage my diet† (17). This statement lets us know that the author has been through this type of situation.
